1895 Souvenir Booklet of the Carlisle Indian School
Price: $7.00
Description
This is a facsimile reproduction of a souvenir booklet originally printed in 1895 for the Carlisle Indian School. Included are a short description of the school in the beginning as well as its history and aims. Images of the campus, school buildings, bedrooms, classrooms, extracurricular groups, and graduates are included, each with a short caption. Photographs of athletic teams, industrial instruction, and outing experiences are presented in a similar fashion. Though not mentioned in the text of the pamphlet, much of the photography is credited to John Leslie, a Puyallup student who apprenticed with local photographer John N. Choate.
