Expanding Your Horizons and Finding Historical Connections through Travel

Local author and world traveler, Sherry Knowlton, talks about how her journeys around the country and the globe have broadened her approach to both her writing and her life in general. She’ll discuss how reading about the world outside her childhood home in Southcentral Pennsylvania launched a lifelong quest to see the places, people, and historical sites in the books she treasured. Sharing anecdotes from her travels, Knowlton will talk about some of her most memorable glimpses into the history of the places she’s visited – as well as how her experiences, both local and global, have become part of her published books.

An engaging storyteller, Knowlton has visited more than 50 countries on six continents and is still traveling. She is the author of the Alexa Williams suspense series of novels set primarily in the Carlisle area as well as a two-volume travel memoir, Beyond the Sunset.
