Amelia Givin Library on County Historic Register
On Monday February 21, 2022, David Smith, Interim Executive Director at CCHS presented Cynthia Thompson, librarian at the Amelia Givin Library in Mt. Holly Springs with the official plaque recognizing the listing of the library on the Cumberland County Register of Historic Places. Carmen James, President of the Board of Trustees at CCHS and a member of the Library Board also participated. The new listing is unique in that the Amelia Givin Library has been on the National Register of Historic Places for many years. However, the Library Board wanted to have their facility recognized at the local level as well. They are in the process of applying for a Pennsylvania State Historical Marker as well. If granted, the library will have achieved recognition at the local, state and national levels, a very unique series of designations.
